TOWARDS A NEW MASCULINITY

A new vision on male underwear

The definition of sexual identity based on clothing is a convention that our society has transmitted from generation to generation, according to the models approved by society.

Nowadays, there is a growing trend towards the "genderless" model, where men and women wear the same designs without distinction, or even garments that have traditionally belonged to the opposite sex.

Within this line, lingerie has always been defined as an outfit for the exclusive use of women, but ... is it really an item for female use only?

Today there is a growing trend for men to wear lingerie, both in the gay and heterosexual world.

Certainly the contrast between the femininity of the garments and the masculinity of the wearer makes a combination that causes surprise, admiration, exalts eroticism and awakens new sensations, both for those who wear them and for those who admire and enjoy them.

IS IT A FETISH?

Traditionally, the word Fetish -in sexual terms- is defined as "a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to a particular object, garment, body part, etc."

Lingerie especially suggests some form of role play, and is definitely suitable for fetish fun, understanding a fetish as something that should not be judged as good or bad, but simply a particular taste, out of fear or shame.

MEN'S LINGERIE

In 2018, entrepreneurs and fashion lovers Nacho Amez and Max Macter, detected the appearance of a new market that was not sufficiently covered or developed in Mexico and was still incipient in other countries, so they decided to investigate the needs and tastes of consumers of intimate garments, in order to offer them a line of clothing specially designed for the male body, taking care of design and quality, while following the most avant-garde trends in fashion.

Garments to highlight the sexy side and attributes of those who wear them, regardless of their sexual preference or gender identity. This is how APOLLO SEXYWEAR was born.

Nacho tells us: “In my awakening to the gay world, I was harshly criticized for my tastes and tendency to wear lingerie, however I always believed that sensuality and aesthetics, with the way in which certain garments enhanced the qualities of my body, would succeed at some point and I am satisfied to see what is happening now ”.

"I was a fan of lingerie from a very young age, first in women, and by chance of fate I began to see it in men ... and although at first it was a cultural shock, it gradually became a personal taste and something that seemed tremendously provocative and sensual to me. " - Max.

Since 2015, Nacho had an Instagram account where he shared photographs wearing stockings and lingerie, and as of 2016 many followers began to arrive -from all over the world- who congratulated him and constantly asked where to buy the designs he showed -some of his own creation - and they also asked him to sell them.

“When I met Nacho in 2016, we discovered that we shared the taste for lingerie and one thing led us to another: We realized that we were not the only ones, social networks gave us the guideline that this preference was becoming a trend, but there was no way to get this kind of clothes in Mexico, there were no more than boring boxers, trusses, and maybe a daring thong, but most of the times in the basic and boring colors. " - Max.

There was something else missing, go further ... In their search, they found a couple of Internet sites that had already been in this line for some years...

And so, they bought clothes in stores in the United States and Europe, which were already beginning to create good designs, but they were expensive, they hardly could be bought from Mexico and, in the best of cases, you had to wait weeks for them to arrive.

GENDERLESS

Apollo Sexywear has no gender labels: “When you wear sexy underwear it is said that you are gay or that you want to be a woman. For some that may be true, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, many men - even heterosexuals - are only exploring their feminine side. - Nacho affirms.

“There are many people who do not have the confidence to wear the clothes they openly love, due to their fear of what others might think. Some also have wonderful partners in their life who encourage them to be authentic. We think that the only way to break stigmas is to popularize something that is normally considered taboo ”. - Max mentions.

The word lingerie is typically defined as women's underwear, but… It is not actually “women's clothing” if a man buys it with the intention of wearing it. This reveals some inherent beliefs about "men's clothing" and "women's clothing" and whether there really is such a thing, despite what society dictates. It is thought this way because of what society has considered acceptable for men and women. The rules of men's fashion are much stricter and can fall into the category of "women's clothing" very easily.

It seems quite limiting to make some pieces of fabric with soft textures and lace just something that women can use to feel sensual and desired.

It is time for men to take a step forward: Gender-bending does not make them less of a man, on the contrary, it reaffirms their personality and allows them to feel comfortable, full and happy...

APOLLO SEXYWEAR

In the constant search to find sexy garments to wear, the idea arose of sharing their passion and make it available to the public - first for Mexico, and as of this month of August 2020, for the rest of the world - the intimate garments destined "for the sexy man inside you ”, as his slogan says.

A daring clothing line, with textures and colors selected to cover the most diverse tastes.
